We found that it was necessary to develop a pilot operated pressure regulating valve to enter markets like potable water supply to cities and townships, fire suppression systems, agricultural and general industrial application.

Previously our fixed ratio pressure regulating valve could not offer solutions for variable upstream pressures. Our pressure control valve does offer solutions for variable upstream pressure, but the actuators are quite high tech. We needed something simple that did not require any electrical or communication connections. This is where the pilot operated pressure regulating valve are very good, as it is simple and can be installed anywhere and in any position.

Our LFC_3B range of valves can be installed in underground inspection chambers / tunnels, underwater, outdoors and is not affected by the elements like the sun, outside temperatures, wind, or dust. It will control to downstream pressure constantly irrespective of changes to the upstream pressure. It does not require any electrical or communication connections. It is simple and easy to maintain and maintenance can be done in situ. Since the valve is a double chamber piston operated, the valve is more reliable than the conventional diagram operated type pressure regulating valves. 

The LFC_3B body is designed for a maximum pressure rating of 2.5 MPa / 362 psi. The valve body is manufactured from ductile iron and is a tee pattern globe type design. The valve internals are made from 304 and 431 stainless steel. 

The valve can be supplied with un-drilled flanges, that can be drilled to most flange tables such as ANSI B16.5, BS4504, BS10, AS/NZS 4331.1 (ISO 7005-1), DIN and SANS 1123 at a maximum pressure rating of 2.5 MPa / 362 psi. The valve range is also available with Victaulic or other makes of grooved ends.
