The HYDROMINE™ Group of Companies herewith officially declare that we do not support the course of action taken by the Russian government to invade Ukraine.
South Africa is 1 of 193 countries that are member of the United Nations, and its decision to abstain from voting to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the 2nd of March 2022 does not reflect our own, as we do not support the decision taken by Russia.
We believe that the Russian government’s actions are in-fact a direct invasion of the freedom of the citizens in Ukraine without sound reason or justification of any kind.
The HYDROMINE™ Group of Companies and its employees act in their own right as democrats to stand against all state of war affairs, and are in full support of the United Nations efforts towards restoring peace between Russia and Ukraine.
We believe that the consequences of Russia’s actions will have a severe economic impact on a global scale, that ordinary citizens around the world will have to absorb.
The invasion on Ukraine will leave its citizens with an enormous loss of lives, damage to infrastructure, and a steep decrease of public health and other critical facilities.
To date there has been hundreds of casualties, and more than two million people have fled Ukraine since the invasion. We believe that this number will continue to rise if the Russian government and its troops continue with its actions in Ukraine.
We simply cannot see any good arising from wars of any kind, as the damage caused will leave a residual impact on future generations for years to come.
We cannot stress enough on the suffering of the Ukrainian people under these dire conditions. We sincerely sympathise with them, and we call for peace to be restored as soon as possible.
